WEEK 12 (8/8 - 12/8) THE LAST WEEK

Activities this week. This will be the last week for my practicum, a full 12 weeks. Indeed, a challenging task for me it has been, and it also served as valuable experiences. My fellow friends also attended briefing session conducted by our supervisor from KUPTM, Madam Shazni where she shed light on our questions and gave us guidelines in completing this practicum. For academic classes, both Form 4 & 5 will be for revision as MRSM will be having Semester 1 examination starting next week.   FORM 4: Discussion on the topics that will be covered for examination Since this is a revision week, we have gone through each question on Mastery practice in the textbook. Students are called to response or showcase their solutions for each given questions. The  STRENGTH  of my approach is it makes my students jitter where they can be called at any times, thus they need to give their best in solving the questions. but the apparent  WEAKNESS  is there is students that didn’t bother

WEEK 11 (1/8 - 5/8) ACTIVITIES WEEK

Activities this week. This week will be different from any other as the for the whole week we have conducted full of activities from morning till night. Thus, there are no academic sessions in classes. Even so, as the coordinator for Form 5 modern Mathematics, O have taken the liberty to incorporate academic for few of the activities that occurred, notably, ‘KEMBARA AKSA’. Whereas for Form 4, discussion for the previous quiz they taken.   FORM 4: Discussion on the previous quiz for chapter 10 Index Number are held through Telegram during the night I listed down on common mistakes done by the students and gave tips on what should be done to answer each question. I also open Q&A for them during the session. The  STRENGTH  of my approach is it gave the students insight on their performances. but the apparent  WEAKNESS  is there might be student/s that lowered their self-esteem when receiving lower marks compared to their excellence peers. OPPORTUNITY  that can be seen is

WEEK 10 (25/7 - 29/7) MSSD FOOTBALL

The time has come, this week has been held MAJLIS SUKAN SEKOLAH DAERAH (2022), Football match. Words cannot describe how stressful this week has been, juggling my classes and managing the team for the tournament.   Activities this week. The lesson and revisions conducted in this week are: FORM 4: This week we start learning new topic, Chapter 4 (INDICES, SURDS AND LOGARITHMS). Since I will be out of the school for two days, missing some of the classes, I have set few of the easy subtopic for the students to do self-study, 4.1 and 4.2, Indices and Surd. Whereas during the time I available, I will be teaching 4.3, Logarithm The  STRENGTH  of my approach is it cultivate the student’s self-discovery skills. but the apparent  WEAKNESS  is a handful of the students didn’t take my heed seriously, as there has been reported case of them sleeping during the time of my absence. OPPORTUNITY  that can be seen is for them to build up their independency from lectures and paving the

WEEK 9 (18/7 - 22/7) PREPPING FOR MSSD & SECOND OBSERVATION

Aside from academic lessons, this week I have been busied prepping for MAJLIS SUKAN SEKOLAH DAERAH (2022), for MRSM Taiping Football team. Words cannot describe how stressful this week has been, juggling my classes and managing the necessary documents and materials for next week tournament. However, the things that worries me the most is the second observation by my mentor, Madam Sa'adah.   Activities this week. The lesson and revisions conducted in this week are: FORM 4: This week we start learning new topic, Chapter 10 (INDEX NUMBERS). Due to its short contents, the chapter have already finished in just a week lesson. For this topic, it is related to economic educations, and I have been using examples from few suitable products, such as MCD, STARBUCKS, relating the topics with the things that these youngsters can relate to. The  STRENGTH  of my approach is it gave clear visions on the things they studied. but the apparent  WEAKNESS  is a handful of the students ca

WEEK 8 (11/7- 15/7) CALM BEFORE THE STORM

Nothing extraordinary for this week, lessons are proceeding as planned, kind of giving me the times to breathe, calm before the storm of next week.   Activities this week. The lesson and revisions conducted in this week are: FORM 4: This week we proceed to finish up Chapter 3 (SYSTEM OF EQUATIONS), specifically 3.2 (SIMULTANEOUS EQUATIONS INVOLVING ONE LINEAR EQUATION AND ONE NON-LINEAR EQUATION). Same as the last week, I employ discovery learning method by letting the students to attempt each question themselves and compared their steps/solutions with their friends at the end of the sessions. As topic 3.2 is tad easier than 3.1 the student’s performance are generally better than before The  STRENGTH  of my approach is it encourages experimenting mathematical steps for the students. but the apparent  WEAKNESS  is a handful of the students cannot get past on certain questions as they have low analytical skills, requiring constant help from the teacher. OPPORTUNITY  tha

WEEK 7 (4/7- 7/7) FORMATIVE TEST DISCUSSION

This week are aimed for discussing on the formative test that the students have undergoes last week. FORM 5 students have shown improvement compared to their previous test while this is the first test for FORM 4, it can be said that majority of them perform well with a handful of students that required extra attention. Discussion on the test will only takes about 1 period for each class, the rest of the slot will be on new topics respectively.   Activities this week. The lesson and revisions conducted in this week are:   FORM 4: This week we proceed to Chapter 3 (SYSTEM OF EQUATIONS), specifically 3.1 (SYSTEM OF LINEAR EQUATIONS IN 3 VARIABLES). This topic is quite interesting and unique for my students, and this is due to the numerous combinations on the steps that they can opt for in solving it, which is differ from other topics which will be having standard solving methods. Thus, each of them might attempt different methods from their peers and arrived at the same final solutions. F

WEEK 6 (20/6- 24/6) PREPARATION FOR FORMATIVE TEST

This is the last week for me to assessing up my students before they having their formative test next week. We have finished all the necesary covered topics for the test and this week focus will be on revising the topics.   Activities this week. The lesson and revisions conducted in this week are:   FORM 4: This week we are revising Chapter 2, in preparation for the upcoming formative test in the next weeks. Since this is a revision session. I only recapping the crucial sections where the students shown to be having problems based on previous classes. Mostly the lessons conducted by attempting to solve the master exercise questions from the textbook. After I have done recapping the necessary parts, then I instructed students to do selected questions by themselves, and only after that I will called for volunteer to showcase their solutions. Along the way, I have pointed out on the displayed solutions such as the mistakes, precautions, and titbits. The  STRENGTH  of my approach is one qu
