The time has come, this week has been held MAJLIS SUKAN SEKOLAH DAERAH (2022), Football match. Words cannot describe how stressful this week has been, juggling my classes and managing the team for the tournament.
Activities this week.
The lesson and revisions conducted in this week
are:
FORM 4: This week we start learning new topic,
Chapter 4 (INDICES, SURDS AND LOGARITHMS).
Since I will be out of the school for two days,
missing some of the classes, I have set few of the easy subtopic for the
students to do self-study, 4.1 and 4.2, Indices and Surd. Whereas during the
time I available, I will be teaching 4.3, Logarithm
The STRENGTH of my approach is it cultivate the student’s
self-discovery skills.
but the apparent WEAKNESS is a handful of the students didn’t
take my heed seriously, as there has been reported case of them sleeping during
the time of my absence.
OPPORTUNITY that can be seen is for them to build up their independency
from lectures and paving the road for self-learnings.
Whereas the THREAT is students that lack
self-discipline will continue to worsen their attitude and grade.
FORM 5: This week we are finishing up Topic 6 (RATIOS AND GRAPHS OF
TRIGONOMETRIC FUNCTIONSEMENT), focusing on 6.2 (THE GRAPHS OF SINE, COSINE AND
TANGENT FUNCTIONS).
Same as previous topic for the last week, I have implemented learning through discovery. Using the materials provided in QR code from the textbook, I instructed students to pair up, and engage in discovery activity based on the GEOGEBRA materials. Having iPad sure makes the learning process easier as students can engage in the discovery activities much easier.
The STRENGTH of my approach is student able to get clearer comprehension on the concept of changing in trigo graph due to changes in value/s.
but the apparent WEAKNESS is there are few of them that
still not yet mastered 6.1, causing their partner to do the jobs for them.
OPPORTUNITY that can be seen is for them to get more interested
in discovering other mathematical concepts.
Whereas the THREAT is in the poor internet connection
in the class as the activity relied heavily with internet connections.
Co-curriculum activities this week.
Football club: This
week activities are handled by the club president.
Police cadet: Managed
by others.
Our MSSD FOOTBALL managed to pass for Top 16 teams and our dreams are
thwarted during the second stage. Truly a sad experience for us but a lot of
things have been learned which valuable to us as winning is not the only gift there
is to us during the tournament
