Activities this week.
This will be the last week for my practicum, a full 12 weeks. Indeed, a
challenging task for me it has been, and it also served as valuable
experiences. My fellow friends also attended briefing session conducted by our
supervisor from KUPTM, Madam Shazni where she shed light on our questions and
gave us guidelines in completing this practicum.
For academic classes, both Form 4 & 5 will be for revision as MRSM will be having Semester 1 examination starting next week.
FORM 4: Discussion on the topics that will be covered for
examination
Since this is a revision week, we have gone through each question on
Mastery practice in the textbook. Students are called to response or showcase
their solutions for each given questions.
The STRENGTH of my approach is it makes my students
jitter where they can be called at any times, thus they need to give their best
in solving the questions.
but the apparent WEAKNESS is there is students that
didn’t bother to tried as they simply said that they cannot solved it.
OPPORTUNITY that can be seen is for students to gain confidence
in presenting their views.
Whereas the THREAT is there bound to be lazy students
that won’t bother to participate, widen their abilities gap with the others.
FORM 5: Discussion on the topics that will be covered for
examination
A bit different from what I have done with Form 4, I have asked them to
form a group of 4. Set of questions are given to them and they need to do each
question together and discuss it with fellow members, achieving one final
answer.
The STRENGTH of my approach is it encourages their
analytical skills in mathematics when they are discussing on the mathematical
approach that they did.
but the apparent WEAKNESS is there might be student/s
that didn’t contribute much, simply waiting the answers from their members.
OPPORTUNITY that can be seen is for them to build up teamwork
skills and encourage academic discussions
Whereas the THREAT is the possibility for a group to
consist of all bad or poor performance students, causing the group having
slower pace than the others.
On another note, I who also a warden for the school have conducted meeting sessions with the male students as there a sighting of truancy during the night-time, which famously known as “FLIED”. We shared to the boys on the previous cases for truancy and the consequences to them as a reminder that these serious issues and they will be reprimand if they do so.
