WEEK 3 (23/5 - 27/5) FIRST OBSERVATION BY SUPERVISOR & MASUL 2022

This week will be the first official observation by the school supervisor, Madam SAADAH, an also the start of Mathematics Supreme League (MASUL) 2022, which will be handle by me as the coordinator for MRSM TAIPING. A challenge indeed for me to be the one responsible for such prestige event, but with the help of the fellow seniors, alhamdulillah everything went smoothly. 




Activities this week.

The lesson and revisions conducted in this week are:

 

FORM 4: This week we are focusing on topic 2.1.3 (Solve quadratic inequalities) and 2.2 (Types of Roots of Quadratic Equations). Quiz session are conducted using QUIZIZZ for checking students understanding for this week topic. 

The STRENGTH of my approach is it making the class environment more fun and it easier to check level of mastery from the marks, but the apparent WEAKNESS is the students intimidates by the timer for each question. OPPORTUNITY that can be seen is for them to view pdpr sessions as something fun rather than strictly learning from the board. Whereas the THREAT is this method relied on internet connection and it will hinder the learnings when the Wi-Fi connection unstable.


FORM 5: This week we are moving on to Chapter 4, TAXATION, and this week we are focusing on 

4.1.1 (Explain the purpose of taxation) and 4.1.2 (Describe various taxes, hence the consequences of tax evasion from legal and financial aspects).

Same with the previous chapter, INSURANCE, I instructed my pupils to read specific subtopic, the night before the class, and the class session will be on sharing sessions and Q&A sessions for them to debate on the concepts. The STRENGTH from this method is the pupil’s engagement rate are higher than normal where majority of them filled with curiosity and questions. At the same time, apparent WEAKNESS is on the case where few pupils seen to not participate or no engagement during the classes.     Same as before, I will periodically be calling out their name and asked for their thought on certain concept, which will made them to be more prepare before the next class. OPPORTUNITY for this method is it encourage pupils to self-study before the start of any classes and making them more engaging during the classes or outside activities. THREAT that possible from this method might be the possibility that some of them are burdened with other task from any other subjects or school activities, causing them for not having times to self-study the topic which causing them to not be able to have much engagement during the class sessions. Basically, the SWOT are about the same with WEEK 1.


Observation by Madam SAADAH went smoothly but we still havent discuss my overall performance since both of us are busy with other tasks for this week, this matter will be follow up next week.

Co-curriculum activities this week.

Football club: This week activity will be practice match with each 2 teams where each teams need to make up with balance numbers of FORM 4 and FORM 5 students. We start the activity with simple warming up session leads by the president of the club, and only after that I instructed them to form the teams.

Police cadet: This week activity is handled by another teachers.

 

MASUL 2022 

Perhaps handling this event are the most stressful activity for this week, with my lack of experiences and being put in charge of it. Nevertheless, with the help of fellow seniors in my department. I managed to find students to represent our school,

 






Sadly, luck is not on our side as we failed to proceed on to the next stage of the competitions, but nothing lost as this event gave both me and my students valuable experiences that will be useful on our future endeavour

  Aside from academic lessons, this week I have been busied prepping for MAJLIS SUKAN SEKOLAH DAERAH (2022), for MRSM Taiping Football team.
